Here it is.... number 2!!
We trundled up to our second search for a star qualifier held in Luton
After a lovely night at hotel Jess, we were up bright and early and on our way!! I got there in plenty of time and was able to get him ready without panicking about having to be in the ring
I went to declare... and there where 23 in my class!!!! Really? So many?? And only first qualifies...
He starting warming up very tense!! And it took about 20 minutes for him to settle! But eventually he did
Anyway.. it was our time!! So we went into the collecting ring and I made a friend!!! Going alone is no fun, so it was super nice to meet some lovely people who also helped me out in the ring!!
The go round was actually pretty good, he had a couple of moments, but luckily it was behind the judge
Then it was time for our show! By this point I’m shitting myself at the thought he might not do the bloody jump again!!
But he did!! And he jumped beautifully!! Unfortunately he got very tense and excitable after the jump and we had 5/6 strides of crazy Barny after each fence which lost us some very valuable marks
Also... I got some awesome gloves from Rosie at knightsbrand!! They are fab!!! Absolutely love them! They are so so grippy and look and feel great!!
We got some great feedback, and we managed the best jump mark in the section!! And a 34 for confirmation and type, not sure if this is good or not
So.. the long lonely drive back gave me tons of time to think
Barny has been going great but he still needs lots of work to be able to get there. So I’m going to work my ass off, put all the hours in and try again next year
Thanks to everyone for all your help, support and encouragement!! I will still be eventing, showing and little bits of everything though!! The yellow pony journey continues!!
P.s no pictures or videos of today as I was by myself so had to leave my phone in the car
