Millfield BE80~ Number 4

Well last weekend we headed off on a lone adventure to Millfield!!

Iโ€™m so so used to going everywhere with Laura and her getting all the footage(so so much footage) that this weeks vlog didnโ€™t take long to edit at all ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

There have been so many late starts recently I was sure to have an early one soon enough!!! The 4.45 start was a killer but luckily I was nice and prepared this time so it was a super easy load up and go ๐Ÿ˜Š

A nice easy ferry journey and we were on our way, with a quick little stop off to pick my brother up ๐Ÿฅฐ an hour and a half north west and we had arrived!! Not that Charlie was aware as he slept the whole way ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ We pulled up and not long after Noush and Hattie arrived!!! Not such a lone adventure after all!!

So.. tacked up and off we went for our pre warm up, warm up ๐Ÿ˜‚ Barns felt awesome and so I only rode for 10 minutes so not to ruin anything ๐Ÿ˜‚ Back to the trailer and we pootled around for an hour then got back on and down to dressage with 15 minutes to go ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

I went to my steward to sign in and was told I had to go to my arena right away! I had 15 minutes until my time!!! But the steward was insistent and not wanting to make a scene I went down.

So having not warmed up.. I wasnโ€™t expecting great things.. a hello to the judge and we were down the center line๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

WOW!!! WOW!! WOW!! That felt great! An excited few canter strides and a slightly overshot centre line didnโ€™t worry me today because the rest was insane!!! And we scored a 32!!!!! Our best ever score and so well deserved!!(in my opinion ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

We then went to walk the course!! Richard had assured me that I would be fine and it was a nice easy run!! And that it was, great ground, nothing scary! I was very excited to go!! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

Now showjumping.. he warmed up great ๐Ÿ˜Š listened to me and I felt like I was riding properly!! In the ring we had some beautiful jumps.. and some not so very nice jumps (particularly the downhill ones).

So 3 poles down and no chance of a placing going into xcountry on 44 I was just going to go and have a lovely leisurely round ๐Ÿ˜Š

The countdown was on.. and I wasnโ€™t crying!!!

Barns was on fire! He flew everything! And we came inside the time ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

So even though we had those poles and I should have been annoyed at myself because it cost me 4th place (again!!!!!) I was so so pleased because our dressage really is getting so so much better ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

The drive home was very complicated!! With no data between us and a few wrong turns it took us 3 hours to get home!!!!! But of course, as always Barns didnโ€™t care as long as he was eating ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
